- What is the historical significance of The Halliburton?
The Halliburton was built in 1809 as the home of Sir Brenton Halliburton, the first Chief Justice of the Nova Scotia Supreme Court. From 1885 to 1887, the building served as Dalhousie University’s prestigious law school.
- Where is The Halliburton located?
5184 Morris Street, on the corner of Barrington and Morris streets. This is in the south end of the downtown core. Approximately 35 min drive from Halifax International Airport.
- What is included in your room rates?
Our nightly rates are in Canadian dollars, include breakfast and parking. Guests are welcome to enjoy our library (with complimentary Internet access) and garden courtyard free of charge.
- Do you have parking?
As in most downtown areas, parking is a limited commodity. We have onsite parking for limited vehicles. Our main lot is accessible from Barrington Street. We have offsite parking (one block away) for remaining cars. Parking is available on a first come first served basis. Upon arrival, please park in our hotel loading area, directly in front of our hotel. We will direct you from there!
- How do we get to The Halliburton from the Halifax International Airport?
If you require taxi or town car service, proceed to the arrivals area where you will find many options usually at a flat rate. Please inquire with the driver before you depart. Get driving instructions from the airport.
- Do I need to rent a vehicle while in Halifax?
The Halliburton is within comfortable walking distance to many historic attractions and Halifax waterfront. There are numerous tour operators that provide city tours and transportation.
- Can I bring my pets with me?
Unfortunately, we do not allow pets (big or small) to stay at our hotel.
- Can I smoke at The Halliburton?
Our hotel, guestrooms, restaurant, courtyard, and all common areas are 100% smoke free.
- Is your hotel accessible?
Due to the historic nature of our buildings, we do not consider ourselves accessible to those with physical impairments. All guest rooms require our guests to climb at least one flight of stairs.
